About the Nepali Calendar

Nepal officially uses the Bikram Sambat (BS) calendar, which is approximately 56 years and 8 months ahead of the Gregorian (AD) calendar. A BS year starts in mid-April AD. This tool supports dates from 1978 to 2099 BS (1921–2043 AD).

The BS calendar has 12 months, each ranging from 29 to 32 days. The number of days in each month changes every year based on astronomical calculations.

Government offices, banks, courts, and most official documents in Nepal use the BS calendar. Saturday is the weekly holiday.
